Learn German Home Study

There are approximately 180 million speakers of the German language. This includes about 100 million people who speak German as their native (first) language, and a further 80 million or so who speak German as a second or third language. German is in fact the majority language in Germany itself, as well as Austria, Luxembourgh, Liechtenstein and Switzerland. There are also a number of German speaking communities in other countries around Europe and the world, including Argentina, Brazil, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Italy, Namibia, and the United States of America.
If you plan to do business in Germany, Austria or Switzerland, then you no doubt find that knowing the German language would be very helpful. For this reason, you ought to consider your options for learning German, and what are the best options for you.
One option is to go German classes. You can find some classes at many local colleges and adult education centers, are they are indeed a popular way to learn the language. To be fair, not everybody likes going to classes, so they aren't for everyone. The other consideration for adult learners, is simply whether classes are practical. If there are no classes within a reasonable travelling distance, or your schedule simply doesn't allow you to attend classes, then obviously you will need to look into other alternatives.
The main alternative to going to classes is home study. Home study has the advantage that you can work at your own pace, fit studies your other commitments, and of course learn in the comfort of your own home. There are many home study courses available on the German language. Traditional home study courses are based around books or tapes, but nowadays you can also choose from a range of computer-based language courses, and these do seem to suit many people.

Inquiry Teaching

The article talked about how inquiry teaching should be done and applied. At first, educators thought that they can either stress inquiry learning by using lots of hands-on experiences or stress content knowledge, decreasing hands-on learning and increase direct instruction. This viewpoint implied that they can do either but not both because they thought that inquiry and content were mutually exclusive of each other.
The writer presented two scenarios. One was using inquiry only which resulted some problems like students did not discover what the teacher intended them to discover which lead to a change of strategy to deemphasize hands-on and adopt on a content driven approach. Second was the traditional way wherein the teacher began some combination of lectures, assigned textbook readings and problem solving and performed experiments in the lab.
With the two scenarios, the writer would like to convey that teachers could do both, practice inquiry science and ensure that students grasped the content knowledge. Hands-on activities could be used in order to build a fundamental understanding of science concepts using a model known as the Learning Cycle.
The learning cycle consisted 5 phases which was denoted by the 5 's namely: Engagement, Exploration, Explanation, Elaboration and Evaluation. In the engagement phase, the teachers exposed the students to questions and activities that engage their prior knowledge of the question. In the exploration phase, the students performed hands-on activities designed to set them up for understanding the concept. In the explanation phase, the teachers drew on the explorative activities to explain the new concept. Activities in the elaboration phase involved students to apply their learning in new situation that reinforced and assessed their learning. Lastly in the evaluation phase, the students were assessed with their learning.

7 Steps to Increase Your Intelligence

In the next few minutes, if you put into effect the advice given in the points below you will indeed increase your intelligence.
This may seem a wild boast but it is true. The effects may not be long lasting, indeed they may only last as long as you consciously continue to act on the advice.
However, with proper training longer term intelligence increases can be yours for the taking. BUT it will time, effort and perseverance on your part.
Dr Bernard Devlin conducted a study of more than 200 articles that have been published in the magazine "Nature" on the subject of Intelligence. He came to the conclusion that yes genes do play a part in your intelligence, but only 42%. The other 58% is influenced by factors such as upbringing and subsequent education and training. Other studies by Dr Win Wenger, Machado, and Buzan (all leaders in their field) have also proven that you can increase your intelligence by further training.
So onto the 7 methods for a quick increase to your intelligence.
1. Increase the flow of blood to the brain by ensuring you breath deeply. This is the easiest method to give your intelligence a substantial boost. Meditation can help you here. And before I hear many of you turn off, I need to point out that this works simply by helping you breath deeper. For a quick fix try this, close your eyes and concentrate on your breathing, if any thought comes to mind, as they will, block them out as soon as you recognise them and carry on breathing. One way to concentrate is to centre your thinking on one thought and one only. Make this thought the feeling of air passing over your nostrils, doing this will make it much harder for other thoughts to enter your head. Keep this up for a couple of minutes, that's all you need. By the way, you were breathing through the nose, right? Breathing through the mouth tends to be shallower, so avoid it.
2. To quickly get the blood pumping and get oxygen to the brain take a little exercise. Now I'm not talking a 5 mile run, that could be quite difficult when you have to attend your pay increase review in the next ten minutes. But there's nothing stopping you putting on your coat and walking out to your car in the car park or quickly circling your workplace.
3. Get yourself a good posture. If you're sitting then sit up straight, no slouching allowed. Close your mouth, see point 1. If you're standing then stand straight, keep the shoulders square and get yourself a good grounding by planting the feet in a solid position. Just doing this will make you immediately more attentive and focused.
4. For a quick boost (this is not a long term strategy remember) get yourself a cup of coffee. The caffeine encourages the brain to step up a gear and improve its workrate. This is obviously to get you over a short term hurdle, maybe a meeting, a game of chess, or even a game of poker?
5. Do not eat any sugary foods before an important event. This raises the insulin level very quickly and leads to a feeling of sluggishness. Ever feel tired just after lunch? This point actually applies to any simple carbohydrate foods such as potatoes and white flour.
6. Get plenty of good sleep. Get yourself off to bed at a reasonable hour. Do not go to bed late and make up for that by getting up late. Getting up later in the day has been shown to make you more lethargic. Following on from this, if you feel tired during the day then do get up from your desk, and go and sit in the car for a twenty minute powernap. Even ten minutes can be beneficial.
7. Continue to learn. Try to learn one new thing daily, this could be about yourself, your work, your environment. This will help to keep the brain active and help increase memory performance which impacts on intelligence.
We've tried to show you some techniques to quickly raise your intelligence levels. Some take effect immediately: breathing, the right foods, exercise, posture and some a little longer, sleep and ongoing learning.
These all help. However, long term continuing efforts to learn and improve you intelligence will pay dividends and should be a part of your overall plan.

Eight Weeks to Italian Mastery

Learn Italian in just 55 days or less. Can it be done?
Based on my experience, YES. How?
With Rocket Italian, coming from the same people that brought you some of my favorite language learning courses, including Rocket Spanish, Rocket Japanese, and Rocket French. Rocket Italian makes learning Italian so much easier, more fun, and less expensive than just about every other course out there, and best of all, fits all budgets--even stingy buyers' like yours truly!
If you want to learn Italian and speak fluently within 8 weeks, this course CAN get you there.
Let's find out more about this great product:
THE GOOD
Like all the Rocket Language products (French, Spanish, etc.), Rocket Italian boasts 3 "easy learning games". Are they actually easy? Oh yeah! Your Italian listening, vocabulary, and grammar skills are sure to increase dramatically with each of these interactive learning games, which generally work with multiple choice and flash card games. It's a great way of learning anytime anywhere, as all you need is a Net connection. Or an I-Pod: you can download the audio lessons onto any MP3 device.
But the bonuses aren't all that's good: I also really appreciated the easy organisation of the "main course", which has 6 sections, including Greeting, Meeting, Food, and Drink, Travel, Arts and Culture, and a very useful one when you're in Italy: Cucina Italiana - Italian Cooking.
Overall, a pretty organised way of learning Italian fluently, and certainly doable in 8 weeks, as the course promises.
Last but certainly not least, this is all available to you for just $99.99. That's a deal no matter what budget size you have!
THE BAD
As with most of the Rocket Language products, you don't quite learn the business side of the language. If you're wanting to learn Italian for business use, I'd recommend this product only as a compliment to other ones, not as an all-in-one solution.
Likewise (and this is common sense, really), your Italian is only as good as how much you practice it in writing and speech, so Rocket Italian isn't quite as good as having a real-life teacher or tutor. Make sure you practice what you learn with the program, otherwise you'll never truly become fluent.
THE FREE!
This Rocket Language course has a better free course than most. It's actually quite comprehensive; unlike the very short and not-very-helpful Rocket French free course, this one actually details many grammatical rules and vocabulary. On top of that, you get free audio pronunciation guides in each of the six free lessons. So overall, a great free course and one worth trying, if only to learn basic, basic Italian.
MY RECOMMENDATION
Can Italian really be learned in just 55 days?
At first I doubted it, having heard the same tired (and false) promise from dozens of other online products. But after trying out Rocket Italian, I can say that, if you're willing to put in the time, you can become molto bene in Italian no time. It's really up to you to put in the time and practice. The course itself provides an excellent, VERY easy framework.
That said, I'm giving Rocket Italian a BUY recommendation. Hey, if you don't like it, just take advantage of the 8-week moneyback guarantee. If you don't learn Italian the way you would have liked in 8 weeks, just get your money back.
No loss, really. And that's something everyone likes to hear.

Importance of Foreign Language Study

Most Americans only know one language, English. Most of us went through high school and studied Spanish or maybe even French, for 2 or more years. Some of us even studied more during college have as much as 5 or 6 years with a foreign language, but we still couldn't communicate in the language. On the other hand, in most other countries, people know 2, 3, 4, or even more languages. Also, they know the language well enough to communicate.
Why is this? Why does it seem so much more important to other countries to learn a foreign language than in America? What is the importance of foreign language study? Foreign language knowledge has become more important today than it has in the past largely because of globalization. Take business for example. How many items that you buy are from the U.S. and how many are from other countries? Businesses are becoming worldwide expanding beyond the United States.
Globalization has been helped along extensively by the internet and communication. We can send an email to someone in China just as fast as someone next door. Communication between countries, cultures, and languages has become simplified and very simple. What does this have to do with learning a foreign language?
First of all, many countries in Europe and Asia are much smaller than the U.S. and yet the neighboring country speaks a completely different language. They must learn that language if they want to go their and communicate. America is quite large and most people don't find it necessary to learn another language. Now that we are becoming more globalized, it is more important that we begin to learn other languages. If I wanted to go to Italy to visit, it would be very difficult for me to get around if I don't know a word of Italian, especially if I don't even have a phrasebook or dictionary.
The internet has allowed us to get even closer with other cultures that speak other languages. For those who want to communicate with them, they may have no choice but to learn their language. Or, if someone is in business and is taking a trip abroad, they need to know their language in order to communicate. This is why those who go to school for International Business must take a certain amount of credits in a foreign language.
Learning a foreign language may be necessary for some in their careers and for others, they may just want to learn it for fun or for a trip abroad. If you want to become a world traveler, it is not required that you learn every language of every country you visit, but learning the language of just one country will make visiting that country that much more enjoyable. Have you every come across someone who doesn't speak English or at least not very well? It was probably frustrating trying to communicate with them. This is what it would be like if you visited a country where they didn't speak your language.
You may want to learn one more language just to impress your friends or you may want to learn several languages so that you can live abroad. Whatever your reason, learning a foreign language is a great experience and is something you will always be very happy you did.

3 Simple Steps to a Powerfully Effective Case Study

When it comes to buying anything--whether it is a product or a service--the first things we all want to know are "What can it do for me, and how effective is it?" Then we want proof, right?
So how do you offer up the kind of proof that turns tire-kickers into paying customers?
Well, the best way is with testimonials.
But if you don't have those, or can't use them in your industry, the next best thing is a case study. And even when you do have testimonials you can use, a case study offers even more information. Plus you can always put the two together for added punch.
Case studies are easy to write once you understand the basic format. And they can be just a few short paragraphs, or a full-fledged white paper up to about 18 pages long. Either way, the same basic rules apply.
The best part is, the information I'm going to share with you today can just as easily be applied to testimonials. And it is the basis for most sales letters too...
How do you write case studies that make people buy?
It really isn't hard. You just need to break it down into this surefire formula.
**Problem (or Pain or Concern) + Solution = Results**
It's that simple.
Let me show you what I mean...
I'll use a short case study from one of my own client projects as an example:
Step #1: Explain the Problems, Pains or Concerns
The idea here is to give readers an idea of why the client bought your product or service. You want this to really hit home with the reader and get them thinking, "That's me!"
So the more you know about your ideal clients--and their wants, needs and problems--the easier it's going to be to write a case study that connects with them.
Example #1: "Because of my outdoor industry background and years of experience doing outdoor sports, MSR (a leading manufacture of outdoor equipment), came to me to write the sales copy for their dealer workbook. At the time, they were getting ready to launch a highly-innovative new Fast & Light backpacking tent collection. And knew this was going to be especially tricky because many of the new tent designs were WAY out-of-the-box.
Some were oddly shaped, a few were floorless tarp shelters, and one was a strange-looking single-wall design. Until recently, most consumers thought fast & light meant bug-filled, damp and uncomfortable (at best). But at that time there was growing mainstream interest in reducing weight.
However, the company just wasn't sure how they were going to get buyers interested in the new designs and keep them from ordering only the more traditional-style tents--especially since tents take up a lot of valuable floor space in a store."
Step #2 Outline the Solution
Now, explain what you did to solve their problems. You don't have to go into every detail. Just show that you came up with a well-thought-out solution to the problems and concerns you outlined above, and why you thought this would be the best way to go.
Example #2: "After much discussion with their tent, sales, and marketing teams, I came up with a sales angle that positioned the tents as steps in a ladder going from more traditional, to hybrid shelter, to tarp-style shelter. So if a buyer ordered the whole line, then customers could choose the right balance of light weight and comfort for them. And the store would have an option to suit everybody."
Step #3 Spell Out the Results
This is the most important part. No one cares about what you do near as much as they care about what you can do for them. Show 'em by explaining the great results you created for someone else.
Example #3: "It worked like a charm. Their Fast & Light collection quickly became the largest and most successful in their tent line, and the Hub tents from that collection have become best sellers. The company also went on to win numerous awards including Backpacker Magazine's Editor's Choice for two of their most innovative (and weird looking) designs."
Step #4 Make it Sell (optional)
Depending on how you use your case study, you could even put in a quick pitch and call to action at the end. If you've written it right your reader may be convinced to hire you to do the same thing for them. You could throw in something like...

Which Internet Marketing Home Study Course Is Right For You?

An internet marketing home study course can be an extremely smart investment if you are looking to make money online and if you are also willing to take massive action to make your dreams a reality.
Does Your Marketing Course Cover Everything You Need To Know?
You should be careful because many courses online are short eBooks or video tutorials that cover only certain aspects of marketing. A good internet marketing course is likely to contain much more in-depth material with a broader view of the topic.
One of the best home study courses I've purchased was Mike Filsaime's Butterfly Marketing course. I made my very first sale from my own website after reading one of Mike's earlier products so I knew that the content he produced was valuable and reliable.
Typically, such courses are more expensive than the $47-$97 ebooks that you'll find on sites like Clicbank, but if you go through and apply the materials, the income potential can be much greater. After using the techniques in the Butterfly Marketing course, I had my first $1,000 day and a $5,000 week. But if you are just starting out, you may not want to spend $1,500+ on a course.
Are You Ready Yet For An In Depth Home Study Course?
But, if you are just starting out, then a full blown internet marketing home study course may not be the right option for you. When I purchased my first high-ticket course I already had a good foundation in internet marketing and I knew I could use the course to help grow my business.
So if you don't have an existing business yet, I wouldn't recommend you spend $1,000 or more on a course as instead of making you money, it may actually cause you to become overwhelmed with the large amount of information on a topic that you're not very familiar with.
Are You Just Starting Out Online? Then Make Sure You...
Get the basics down first! It is possible to start a business online with minimal cost - just a domain and hosting - so there is no need to spend thousands of dollars when you are starting, especially with the wealth of free information that's readily available online.
Great places to start are forums like the warrior forum as you will find many marketing experts who are more than willing to help out new marketers and answer any questions you may have.
There are also good free courses that are designed to help you get started marketing online, and very simple and easy to understand because they're made for beginners. They may not contain all the information of a large internet marketing home study course, but can have all the essentials you need to get started seeing results.
